Parks & Public Spaces :: Hermantown City Park

After completing the master plan for the City of Hermantown Passive Park the City of Hermantown hired SAS+Associates to complete Construction Documents for Phase I for Hermantown City Park.

Phase I construction Documents consisted of refined Design Development drawings for the “future recreation area” to define and focus elements through phase I construction.

Community members needed a passive area for gatherings in their community and near the City’s active park areas. A pedestrian walk (vehicular for emergency/maintenance) was designed with a rural feel that connects the parking area with the picnic shelter. Concrete paver walks connect the picnic shelter to the active park area.

Siting the the shelter on a treed knoll introduced a natural element to the edge of the passive area while allowing for connection to the future park system.
